In a dream, have you ever thought God was trying to tell you something? Have you ever awakened from a dream with deep burning conviction, knowing that somehow your dream was going to come to pass? Thats the way I felt over five years ago, not long after I had been called to serve as Pastor of the Lees Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. My prayer was for God to give me the gift of witnessing to the lost. So one night in a dream, God showed me the secret. Now Ive had many opportunities to use the tools God gave me that night. The dream is still clear in my mind. I want to share with you some of those vital tools, such as love, prayers, patience, kindness, and endurance. Every Christian believer ought to be witnessing to the lost. It may be one of your family members, a friend, or a coworker. Please dont give up on them too soon. Remember to live a Godly life because the life you live in front of them just might be the only Bible they will ever read.

A story about anger, aggression and the desire for intimacy by a rising star of modern Dutch literature. A professional boxer and a family man meet by chance on a journey to the Pamplona Bull Run. The boxer is fleeing an unhappy love. The father hopes to escape his dull routine. Both know that, eventually, they will have to return to the place each calls ‘home’. Why Peirene chose to publish this book: ‘I adore the deceptive simplicity of this story. On the surface, the fast moving plot, the short sentences, the ordinary words make the text as straightforward as punches in a boxing match. But just as physical conflict stirs deep emotions, so too does this book as it focuses on a single question: how do you choose between flight and fight?’ Meike Ziervogel ‘An impressive work.’ Harry Ritchie, Daily Mail ‘As he tracks back and forth between the dual narratives, moving inexorably to the double climax, Van Mersbergen skilfully builds emotional intensity until the point when the boxer and bulls' fury are finally unleashed.’ Lucy Popescu, Independent on Sunday ‘An intriguing and intricate gem of a novel . . . Van Mersbergen’s tightly controlled prose skilfully conveys the overriding sense of repressed emotion and sheer physicality that drive a compelling and complex story.’ Pam Norfolk, Lancashire Evening Post ‘Flawlessly translated.’ Adrian Turpin, Financial Times ‘A refreshing change from the byzantine complexities of all too many contemporary novels.’ John Oakley, New Books Magazine ‘An intense reading experience . . . Van Mersbergen tells what needs to be told and not a word more.’ De Morgen

Terry Toivo desperately wanted to hide from his legend; an outlaw which every sheriff wanted out of town. Branded as the Ghost of Fort Rice, a title earned by cheating the gallows, Terry finds unexpected and unwelcomed help to turn his life around, to include a judge that declared him married to his nemesis. Hounded by an Indian tracker, his journey takes him from complete reprobation to a respected hero of the Dakota Territories. The Hound of Tooty River is a masterpiece of both simple and complex themes modeled after the C.S. Lewis style of storytelling. This authentic narrative tells of the lives of the hard working families living on the vanguards of the nation as frontier justice gave way to rule of law. Drawing from family oral traditions, a military dossier, a Canadian Bible, and newspaper clippings dating back to the early days of Fort Rice and Bismarck, The Hound of Tooty River is a deep, moving, and exciting account of the romance that brought the author’s great-grandparents to marriage, and made an honest man out of Terry Toivo. Readers will want to mine the next page for new clues as the “Hound” chases the unlikely hero through a captivating series of events. This adventure will delight the teen, stir the heart of the romantic, and inspire the theologian. Dr. Lloyd Olson

A Birthmark, A Princess, A Special Destiny in Romantic Novel, A King's Daughter FORT WORTH, Texas- A red birthmark on the face of a newborn baby daughter turns its mother, a Queen into a suspicious, if not superstitious, woman. Queen Charlotte, wife to King Edward, gives birth to her child, but upon knowing that the mark will not go away immediately loses faith in everything and turns away from A King's daughter. Audra Lilly Griffeth's exciting story is potent with the romance attendant on royalty and how its members fare when a twist of fate condemns them or one of their members to a commoner's fate but is destined to come back to the fold. And thus, the story unfolds... Born Princess Eva Kathleen Wellington, Eva is loved by the Queen's servant Lady Margaret, when her mother continues with her passionate denial of her daughter's defect. Although it may have turned out worse, Princess Eva's story is proof of a more romantic, benign fate that is perhaps the antithesis to the Queen's unfounded fears of having a "defective" and cursed infant. In any case, a cosmetic cure could have been eventually found except that there was no hiding the Queen's strange behavior towards her newborn for too long. Sad and concerned for the Princesses' future, Lady Margaret arranged a fake kidnapping in a nearby forest when King and Queen are off on a state to visit another kingdom. When news of "kidnapping" reaches them two days after the fact, the Queen is unaffected while the King is in depair and does not fully recover even after the birth of two sons and another daughter to continue his line. Meanwhile, Eva and Lady Margaret, as Evanlynn and Mary Engleton (mother and daughter), prosper as nest they could in Margaret's grandparent's dairy farm. Fate takes another surprising turn when Sir Daniel, a trusted officer of the King, befriends Margaret and unwittingly influences her to reveal their existence to the King. The King is overjoyed and Evanlynn shows the truth of her genetic make-up by naturally adapting to a set of strange, new circumstances. With a flair for a well-turned out plot which generates its own set of unique circumstances, Griffeth then sets in motion a whirlwind of love, repentance, acceptance and a more special destiny for the entire kingdom that would not have been possible had it not lost a Princess to the vagaries of natural physical form.

As a new writer, James L. Varnadoe dreamed of writing about things that interested him most, Love and War are two of those interests. After I completed my efforts toward writing my biography and ancestral history, I decided to try something totally Greek to me; a fictional story. Amanda (Light of MY Life) This story centers around two families living in New York and Ohio. Their lives come together somewhat by coincidence. Although, they lived similar life styles, they had nothing else in common except two children who fall in love with each other. These two faced the same trials and tribulations associated with young love, but encountered hardships uncommon with the youth and in todays environment. Distance threatened to destroy their love for each other and the lack of reliable communication and travel venues, posed an even greater threat. There were several people who impacted their lives in their struggled to find their way back together again. However, they found solace in their reunion after a lengthy separation and were content with the outcome of their quest for happiness. They both lived in close proximity of each other and worked to prepare the way for a wedding that would bind them to each other. The onslaught of the civil war impacted both families in the most horrific way imaginable and would place an even greater strain on their lives. This epic about family ties, faith, humor and mystique, surrounded by love and romance may whet your reading appetite. I hope to have a sequel to this story finished in the near future for your reading pleasure also.

At the age of eight, Sarah witnessed the gruesome killing of her parents. She would have died that night, but wolves gathered to protect her. With no family to care for her, she grew up in an orphanage. Unknown to Sarah, her future husband had been chosen prior to her parent's deaths, and he was watching over her. She was also being watched by the FBI and the Mafia. Sarah is beautiful inside and out, charming, trusting, and very naive. The orphanage overprotected all of their wards. That would only lead to trouble, and Sarah was a magnet to trouble.

By the spring of 2069, the last of the twenty-four Central Care Complexes had been completed. Scattered throughout that part of North America formerly known as the United States, each Complex occupied a large, highly-fortified section of what once had been a major metropolis; and all, contrary to their euphemistic names, had been established to serve but one purposethat of protecting those despots whose former political, bureaucratic and religious hide-outs could no longer be secured from the mad masses they had created. Each Complex was populated by a Director, several Deputy Directors and Charges, and as many captive Members as were able to survive the twenty hour work shifts, starvation rations and increasingly insane dictates of their overlords. Any infraction of any of the innumerable rules could meet, at the Directors discretion, with a sentence of injection or expulsion. Conditioned to fear the latter above all else, Members, given the choice, nearly always opted for a quick, relatively painless death within familiar confines, as opposed to the dreaded Outside. The compulsory indoctrination sessions which occupied most of the waking hours of the young were devoted, primarily, to demonizing human sexuality. Within the Complex, Members were forbidden to have sex with other humans, but were required to have sex, at specific intervals, with a machine--:the Master-Bator. And not too secondarily, the sessions were given to exaggerating conditions on the Outside that needed no exaggeration. Assured daily that there was no hope of survival outside the walls of the Complex, warned of the myriad tortures that would precede being eaten alive, with but a rare maverick exception, the Members docilely complied with all the Directives they could remember and settled into the weary, hungry, hobbled existence of being privileged to be enslaved. THE COMPLEX CHRONICLES, set in a not too distant future, is a Libertarians satirical dystopian extrapolation on present day society. Richard Condon said: The job of satire is to frighten and enlighten. The writer hopes she has done her job well and makes no apologies for the brutal nature of the book, except to say that she has never learned how to make future shining cities on a hill out of present dung-heaps.

Each working day from January 29 to November 1, 1951, John Steinbeck warmed up to the work of writing East of Eden with a letter to the late Pascal Covici, his friend and editor at The Viking Press. It was his way, he said, of "getting my mental arm in shape to pitch a good game." Steinbeck's letters were written on the left-hand pages of a notebook in which the facing pages would be filled with the test of East of Eden. They touched on many subjects—story arguments, trial flights of workmanship, concern for his sons. Part autobiography, part writer's workshop, these letters offer an illuminating perspective on Steinbeck's creative process, and a fascinating glimpse of Steinbeck, the private man.
