It was initially dedicated to the manufacture of small household appliances, plastic utensils and some toys. Over the years this company strengthened its position as a toy manufacturer, becoming known above all for its production and marketing of Scalextric, which began in 1962 until its final closure in 1993.

Scalextric, the ultimate boys' toy, arrived in toyshops in 1957. The first-ever electric slot-car system, with uncontrollable tinplate cars running on heavy rubber track, it brought the speed and glamour of motor racing to suburban living rooms.
